My favorite standalone

Despite some negative feed back I have heard of this book, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab was magnificent. Right from the beginning, I was hooked by Schwab’s beautiful writing style. I have heard many readers say how the beginning was slow, but I loved it. I related to Addie the moment I met her. Addie is a dreamer. She wants everything the world has to offer and she will not settle for any less. Addie longs for a love where her person will understand the hardships life has brought her and still love her forever. Within the book, there are flashbacks from the centuries before current day. These provide an insight of Addie’s “early” life. They help introduce a new side of Addie by explaining why she is so strong. Then she meets Henry. I am not going to spoil anything, but I don’t believe readers who think bad of Henry gave him a chance. He is thoughtful, caring, kind, and cute. He allows Addie to be herself with no restraint. Henry is a breath of fresh air. A new face other than the one who cursed her. Luc. Luc with his manipulation and undying love for making Addie miserable. Despite the great reviews he gets from readers, I believe Luc is pure evil. Yes, he may care for Addie, but not in the way she deserves. All in all, this book is a masterpiece that brought tears to my eyes.
