- Talk to someone about your story
- Take breaks
- Remember that you don’t have to be “perfect” when writing
- Make some coffee or tea when writing
- Create a playlist of songs that remind you of your book
- Imagine going into a bookstore and seeing your books on the shelf
- Imagine going to a signing where YOU are the author everyone is coming to see
Writing
- Finish draft before editing
- outline before you start
- come up with the basis of your plot before starting
- It is helpful to write on a computer if there is one available to you
- Use a dictionary and thesaurus
- Write relatable characters
- Make sure your characters are not “Perfect”
- If you leave out specific details of you main villain it may create the illusion that the character is scarier
- Add real life problems (It makes it more realistic)
- Do your research
- Make sure you do a lot of world building
